{"id":3935,"date":"2018-03-29T12:09:18","date_gmt":"2018-03-29T10:09:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.costazzurraresidence.it\/?p=3935"},"modified":"2022-09-02T07:05:07","modified_gmt":"2022-09-02T07:05:07","slug":"venerdi-30-marzo-solenne-processione-del-cristo-morto-grottammare","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.costazzurraresidence.it\/en\/venerdi-30-marzo-solenne-processione-del-cristo-morto-grottammare\/","title":{"rendered":"Friday, March 30 solemn procession of the Dead Christ in Grottammare"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This religious event consists of a highly evocative performance held in Grottammare every three years on Good Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The first record of the procession, which was originally held annually, dates back to 1738.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The sacred play, organized since 1757 as we continue to see it today by the Confraternity of the Passion and Death of Jesus Christ, traditionally involves hundreds of people from Grottammare, who pass down from father to son the roles they have assumed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The procession travels through the streets of the town, lit only by flashlights crossing the old embrasure and the marina downstream, accompanied by the sound of drums and clarions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Three choirs composed of girls, girls and women dressed completely in black, respectively, to the sound of drums and clarions singing religious hymns, accompany the participants throughout the performance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">TRADITIONAL ROUTE<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s1\">:<\/span><strong><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><em><span class=\"s1\">Piazza Peretti - Via Palmaroli - Via S.Agostino - Piazza Garibaldi - Via Leopardi - Via XX Settembre - Viale Ballestra - Via G.
