Grottammare Events: Memorial Day.

The Memorial Day is an international holiday celebrated on January 27 each year as a day to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust. This day commemorates the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp by Soviet Red Army troops on January 27, 1945.

Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the Kursaal Hall at 9:15 p.m., Film screening:

"MEMOIRS - TRAVELING TO AUSCHWITZ" by Danilo Monte (Italy 2014, col, 76').

The initiative is open to all, free admission.

The events are curated by theBlow Up Cultural Association.

Already yesterday, the children of the fifth Primary were welcomed by the chairwoman of the city council. Alessandra Biocca and the president of the Blow Up Association, Sergio Vallorani, who oversaw the organization of the three events, two dedicated to schools and one open to the public, on behalf of the municipal administration.

Friday, 27th we move to the Theater of Energies, a day of commemoration established by the United Nations General Assembly on November 1, 2005 and corresponding to the liberation of prisoners from the Auschwitz concentration camp.

The meeting with third graders from all city schools and first graders from I.S.S. Fazzini-Mercantini and Liceo Locatelli high schools will be spent between reading and analyzing excerpts from Timur Vermes' best seller "He is Back" and watching sequences from David Wnendt's film of the same name.
