The city tells its own story

Grottammare tells its story, from urban planning to philosophy

A rich program of events will enliven the city of Grottammare from Saturday, June 15 to Sunday, June 23 with the initiative 'The City is Told.' A week in which various themes will be addressed and touched upon from urban planning to social issues, from culture to philosophy, thanks to the work carried out in synergy by the different cultural realities operating in the area. Of importance is the celebration of Refugee Day scheduled for June 20 in Kursaal Square starting at 9 p.m. with 'Let's Define 2019: The Endless Cities. "A unique and unrepeatable week," says Mayor Enrico Piergallini, "besides being very significant for a number of reasons. First, because the associations of Grottammare put their energies together for this first festival of associations; moreover, several cultural spaces that will come into play are being lit at the same time. A week that will produce meaningful content to answer a question. What is the city we want, closed by medieval walls or open ports on the horizon?"

The first of the scheduled events will be held on Saturday from 6 p.m. to midnight at the Ospitale delle associazioni, with Picenum story by the Blow Up association, an event that will be repeated on Sunday as well. On the subject, Councillor Lorenzo Rossi said, "One of the great merits of the project is to move from the ideal city to the real one. Bringing together so many associations, which is not easy. It is nice that it is happening at the gates of summer, our city is open to the world that knows how to weave relationships between multiple places and associative realities." An initiative supported by the Carisap Foundation of Ascoli as Vice President Ranero Viviani points out, "This is a series of important themes and project paths that are fundamental for us. For everything that expresses inclusive capacity the Foundation is there. We are happy with this project, Grottammare is a town that is always alive." Weaving the threads of 'The City is told' is artistic director Piergiorgio Cinì. "A project linked to Grottammare, in other places there is not this will to create union," Cinì said. "To create synergies through sharing a common path. To tell, through different languages an ideal reality. On August 9,10, 11 the show Ideal City, will be the culmination of this series of events." All initiatives are free admission.
